Bring 2 cups of basmati wild rice mix with 4 cups of water, a pinch of salt, and 4 tablespoons of butter or oil to a boil over medium-high heat. Then simmer with the lid closed at the lowest level for about 15 minutes. Remove the rice from the stove and let it rest for another 10 minutes with the lid closed.
