Short Grain Rice (100%)
*from controlled organic cultivation

Bring 1 cup of rice with 2 cups of water to a boil in a saucepan. Salt, let simmer on low heat for about 10 minutes.

This Lotao Deli rice specialty is characterized by its excellent cooking properties: fluffy, non-sticky grains after only 10 minutes cooking time; sweet and buttery aroma; culinary scent of basmati. Prince of Bengal tastes great with green curry, vegetables or jackfruit meat. Due to the sweet aroma, the cooked grains are also ideal for desserts.

Discovered in a village cooperative in West Bengal in the Indian rice belt, villagers cultivate this rice specialty using traditional methods. No pesticides, herbicides or fertilizers are used and only our own seeds are used. Small farmers are thus able to make themselves independent of large corporations.

The Prince of Bengal variety is produced in small quantities, the yield is small. However, the exclusive production and marketing of the rice by Lotao offers the villagers a chance to develop further and achieve fair prices. In this way, Lotao makes a small contribution to a fairer world.
