Since winter is still not ready to take off, we have no choice but to wait, twiddle our thumbs and drink tea.In my opinion, tea is quite an exciting drink. Above all, I see the parallels to rice. Just like this, "tea" found its way to Europe through colonial trade on the one hand, and on the other hand it made its way overland to the Middle East, where it became known as "Chai". In order to combine both, I would like to introduce a fruity smoked rice tea . This rice tea can be prepared as a hot drink on cold winter days . It is also suitable as an iced tea with ice cubes and fresh fruit, or as a long drink with a shot of sake .
Tea enjoyment at its finest
(for the iced tea variant:)
- Grind the smoked rice finely in a coffee grinder. Pour hot water into the tea, smoked rice powder and grated ginger and sweeten with coconut blossom sugar.
- After the tea has steeped, strain out the sediment and enjoy the tea with dates.
- If you want to prepare this tea as iced tea, simply let it cool and cut the fruit into pieces as desired and add them along with the ice cubes.
- Seasoned with lime juice and a dash of sake, the creation turns into an oriental-fruity long drink!
