Ingredients for the pizza dough:

  • 300g flour
  • 150 ml lukewarm water
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp sugar
  • ¼ cube of yeast

Ingredients for the topping:

  • 50 g Lotao Jackfruit Veggie Hack Organic
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 1 garlic clove, cut into thin slices
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 200 ml tomatoes (can)
  • 250 ml water
  • 1 tbsp pomegranate syrup
  • 1 tbsp dark balsamic vinegar
  • 1⁄2 tsp fenugreek
  • 1 1⁄2 tsp rose pepper
  • 1⁄2 tsp Java Kiss coconut blossom sugar
  • 100g corn
  • 100g black beans
  • rapeseed oil
  • Salt
  • pepper
  • ½ red pepper (cut into strips)
  • ½ red onion (in strips)
  • 200g vegan pizza cheese
  • Hot-sweet chili sauce (as desired)

Preparation:

  1. Mix the yeast with the sugar in 150 milliliters of lukewarm water and dissolve. Mix the yeast-sugar solution with the flour, olive oil and salt. Knead into a smooth dough for about 4-5 minutes and halve the mixture.
  2. Form two small balls, cover them with a kitchen towel and let them rest for about 30 minutes.
  3. For the topping, pour boiling water over the Lotao Jackfruit Veggie Mince according to the package instructions or soak it in vegetable soup. Drain the corn and black beans over a pasta sieve and rinse thoroughly, then drain.
  4. Then heat a large pan with a splash of oil and sauté the onions and garlic over medium heat for 1 - 2 minutes, turning occasionally, until translucent. Add the Lotao Veggie Mince and fry briefly.
  5. Now add the tomato paste, spices and sugar to the jackfruit veggie mince and caramelize for about 3-5 minutes. Add corn and beans. Season with salt & pepper.
  6. Add the canned tomatoes, pomegranate syrup, water and dark balsamic vinegar. Let the minced meat sauce simmer gently for about 15 minutes or until the sauce is nice and creamy. Set aside.
  7. Preheat the oven to 220°C (top/bottom heat). Then lift the dough balls onto a baking tray lined with baking paper or a pizza tray and flatten them from the inside out to form a large, circular pizza.
  8. Top the pizza with a few tablespoons of the minced meat mixture and sprinkle with the red peppers cut into strips, onion pieces, chili sauce and grated vegan cheese. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and the pizza is nice and crispy.
  9. Cut the finished pizza into pieces with a knife and serve. Bon appetit!

Our tip for the recipe:

Of course, you can also use pre-made pizza dough for our Tex-Mex pizza. However, it is better to prepare the base yourself, as you can then determine the quality of the ingredients used. If you like it healthier, you can use whole wheat flour for the dough and fresh tomatoes for the sauce. For a Neapolitan Tex-Mex pizza, it is best to use Tipo-00 flour and use a little less yeast. Homemade pizza not only offers many more options - baking is usually also a lot of fun. Good succeed!
PS: If you still have leftover sauce with Lotao Veggie Mink, you can easily use it for our baked tortilla chips as a delicious nacho snack. The recipe can be found here!

    Meine Lieben,

    eure Ingrid-Maria
